![]() About GermatikThis program is designed to help in the learning of German vocabulary words. It drills you in the vocabulary words of any list you choose. Several lists are included, and you can easily make your own. However, there is no restriction that says you can only use it for German. You can do any other language, or even anything else that has a question and answer.Testimonials"This is an excellent vocabulary learning program...this is what I used to ace the Frankenstein vocab quizzes, the PSQs in Biology, the Latin vocab quizzes, and what I use to memorize Number Sense tricks. Kind of like a digital flash cards thing with a few more useful gadgets for measuring your knowledge."- Nathan Watson
Latest Release DetailsVersion 4.00 has many new features including multiple language support for the user interface. The Spelling Helper drills you without translation, to practice spelling.HistoryI originally wrote this program because I was doing poorly on my vocabulary quizzes in German class. I started this program in GW-BASIC in 1999. It was DOS based, and it was extremely difficult to add words to the program, and they could only be 60 letters long at the most. Every time I wanted to add some words, I would have to count the number of letters in each word and write in in the program. That meant that each new list had to have a different program. I quickly improved it, however, and wrote a program to make the lists which eliminated the need for me to count the letters. That worked for a while. Then in November 2001, I picked up a Visual Basic book and decided to learn to program Windows programs. So I was learning Visual Basic as I was writing Germatik. Since the first version in 2001, Germatik has improved considerably in form and function.![]() |
